Project Description

This project involved the design and construction of a 1.1 hectare retention, filtration, and sedimentation wetland as part of the Caroline Springs development. The wetland, located next to the town centre, consists of a series of tiered hard edged precast concrete walled open water, sedimentation and wetland areas with view decks and pedestrian bridges. Storm water runoff from the surrounding area is filtered through the wetlands before passing through 'The Cascades' and into Lake Caroline.

MacLeod Consulting was engaged to design and oversee construction of over 1km of precast and insitu concrete retaining walls and footings. Site inspections and management of the contractor’s quality documents ensured the project was completed to the highest standard before hand over to Melbourne Water.
