Project Description

Northern Bay College trade training centre is part of the Federal Governments Trade Training Centres in Schools Program aimed at providing students access to high quality trade training facilities that meet industry standards. The facility includes workshops for electrotechnology, construction, automotive and engineering, and has a commercial kitchen and a hairdressing salon. There are also seven storage areas, five theory rooms, an outdoor work area and a café facility.

The structure designed by MacLeod Consulting includes:

  • 3200m2 steel portal framed automotive and engineering building.
  • Steel covered way framing.
  • 1500m2 single storey timber framed building.

Civil works involved stormwater drainage, site drainage, external pavements, car parks, and a new bus turnaround area and link road.
