Project Description

MacLeod Consulting provided full structural and civil consulting engineering services for the development of Colac Secondary College - a merger of the former Colac High School and Colac College. The entire 116,000 square metre site of Colac College is being re-developed in stages in order to allow classes to continue in the existing buildings. All buildings in the redevelopment will be efficiently framed out of timber with minimal use of steel.

Stage 1 involved the construction of two learning community buildings along with new hardcourts, car parks, access roads, and an extensive drainage network with swales linked to the sedimentation pond and eco-pond.

Stage 2 consisted of a learning community building, a specialist building, and a library/resource building to be shared with the local community. Civil works included additional hardcourts and access roads, and a 138 space park public car park.
Stage 3 marks the completion of the re-development with two specialist buildings (each of approx 1500 square metres), a sports field, and additional access roads, drainage, and paving.
